Dr. Teriya Monick Richmond was born and raised in Chicago, Ill. She received a full academic scholarship to Mount Saint College in Clinton, Iowa, graduating Summa Cum Laude.Dr. Richmond continued her education at the University of Illinois College of Medicine and School of Public Health where she received her Doctorate of Medicine and Master’s of Public Health.
Dr. Richmond is committed to bringing quality, evidence-based medical care to the minority community and has a passion for women’s health issues. She offers services like chronic medical disease management, in-office gynecology procedures, HIV prevention and contraception management care in a private boutique practice. She is the founder of Teriya M. Richmond MD MPH PLLC.
She also initiated her own
women’s empowerment brand, Mocha Millennium Women which encourages women to be confident in who they are through fitness, fashion, and fun. She has also has a run company called Pout on Pavement and hosts an annual event called Healthy Hair Healthy Body Healthy You!
Dr. Richmond was appointed as AIDS Foundation Houston Chief Medical Officer. She served one year on the Board of Directors as well.
She has participated in clinical research studies including Abbvie Endometriosis RCT.
She also acts as co-physician advisor to Angels Surviving Cancer, a non profit organization that supports women living with breast cancer.
Dr Richmond also participates in Viva Las Mujeres offering free breast exams and pap smears to uninsured or underinsured Latina women. One of her fondest philanthropic endeavors was her first medical mission trip to a remote village in Gandou, Haiti.
In her spare time, Dr. Richmond is an avid runner for charity and she enjoys exercising, reading, traveling and spending time with her husband Jack and her two sons, Jaxon and Jazz!
